- Practice 2 Results
The GT World Challenge America powered by AWS field returned for another 60-minute practice session, fine tuning their machinery ahead of Qualifying, which is set to take place early Saturday morning.
Random Vandals Racing further showcased themselves as early frontrunners and strong contenders, going fastest in the Pro class with Koch and De Phillippi, while CrowdStrike by Riley’s Kurtz and Braun bounced back from a challenging start in Practice 1 to go quickest overall and in Pro-Am.
Pro Class
Kenton Koch and Connor De Phillippi led the way in Practice 2, putting their No. 99 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT3 EVO into first place in the Pro class and second overall during the late-afternoon running.
JMF Motorsports had another productive session with their No. 34 Mercedes-AMG GT3, this time with Canadian Mikael Grenier going second quickest in class, earning him the fifth-best time overall. The second Random Vandals Racing entry of Varun Choksey and Bill Auberlen followed closely behind in third.
Alex Sedgwick and Jan Heylen continued to get up to speed with their No. 18 RS1 Porsche 992 GT3 R, finishing fourth in the second practice session.
Pro-Am Class
Crowdstrike by Riley arrived in full force for Practice 2, as Colin Braun sped away in his No. 04 Mercedes-AMG GT3 and rose to the top of the overall leaderboard by the halfway mark, setting the tone with a blistering quick time of 1:33.745. He held the fastest lap for the remainder of the session.
Fellow Mercedes-AMG competitor Philip Ellis looked strong in the No. 91 Regulator Racing entry, but was overtaken by Tom Sargent for second-quickest on board the No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 992 GT3 R in the final minutes.
BMW completed the Top 5 in class, with the No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Robby Foley and Justin Rothberg concluding the afternoon session in fourth, followed by the No. 8 Flying Lizard Motorsports BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Elias Sabo and Andy Lee.
