The 2025 GT World Challenge America powered by AWS season is shaping up to be one of the most competitive yet, with an exciting mix of returning champions, new teams, and manufacturer expansions. Sonoma Raceway is the host of the season opening event, kicking off the global GT World Challenge calendar. Eight of the ten manufacturers in the worldwide championship will be present on the grid, seeking valuable points in the title pursuit.
With 38 drivers, 19 cars, and 17 teams preparing to take the green flag at Sonoma Raceway, the anticipation is at an all-time high as competitors and fans alike prepare for the championship rivalries to unfold. From Aston Martin and Chevrolet’s strengthened presence to Ford’s highly anticipated debut, the grid is stacked with elite teams and drivers eager to make a strong impression. With a diverse lineup of Pro, Pro-Am, and Am class contenders, this season is set to deliver on all fronts.
The rolling hills and lush wine country of Sonoma serves as the perfect backdrop for a thrilling weekend of racing, setting the tone as SRO America continues to grow, with over 120 cars total across all six series competing at the California-based circuit.
Aston Martin
There are exciting developments on the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 EVO front, with Racers Edge Motorsports now included in the program as part of a new strategic partnership with the manufacturer. Meanwhile, the Heart of Racing Team is expanding into GT3 SRO competition, further solidifying their presence in the series.

BMW
BMW is coming equipped with multiple highly competitive entries. After adding a BMW M4 GT3 in late 2024, Random Vandals Racing is set for a full season, fielding two cars, with Flying Lizard Motorsports doing the same after a mid-season manufacturer swap last year. Meanwhile, defending Pro-Am champions Justin Rothberg and Robby Foley are aiming for back-to-back titles after their narrow championship win in Indianapolis.

McLaren
McLaren are also a new member in the GT3 mix as the McLaren 720S GT3 EVO joins the competition, meaning the brand will have American representation within the global manufacturer championship.

Mercedes-AMG
CrowdStrike by Riley are ready to add more hardware to their collection, with longtime teammates George Kurtz and Colin Braun extending their successful partnership. JMF Motorsports is stepping up to GT World Challenge America with longtime team member Michai Stephens and Mercedes Performance Driver Mikaël Grenier in Mercedes-AMG GT3 machinery. Regulator Racing returns after a strong 2024 season, including two wins and an overall victory. Meanwhile, GT America standouts Jason Daskalos and Isaac Sherman are joining forces, bringing impressive resumes as they take on a new challenge.

After making a strong debut last season at Road America, with a podium finish in their first appearance in GT World Challenge America, the newly named LAB Motorsport by GT Racing team is aiming to build on that momentum as they take on a full year endeavor. RS1 are also back in action with a Porsche 992 GT3 R, featuring a new driver combination.
